Black Friday – DDoS Attacks Against Online Retailers Increase

Between February and October 2020 the number of DDoS attacks targeted online retails has quadrupled. Cyber criminals use DDoS method for extortion purposes. They will stop the attack as soon as the ransom will be paid by the victim.
The focus of DDoS attackers has switched from Financial sector to e-com operators due to COVID-19. It requires less effort to damage a small online retail shop rather than significant financial institute.
Moreover the attacks over HTTP protocol has risen by 296% between February and September 2020 compared to the same period last year.
